Product Description

The ancient ancestor of modern citrus.

The citron (Citrus medica) is one of the original citrus species and produces huge, knobbly, lemon-like fruits. The fruit is mostly thick, fragrant rind with little flesh, and is traditionally used for candied peel, preserves and to perfume a room. A rare and striking tree for the true citrus collector.

Citrons are not hardy: give them the brightest spot indoors over winter and bring them in before temperatures approach 5°C. Water thoroughly when the topsoil is dry and feed with a citrus fertiliser.

Delivered gift wrapped with full care instructions.
